Iranian Authorities Seal Turkish Airlines Office Over Hijab Violations

Iranian authorities have sealed the office of Turkish Airlines in Tehran for violating the mandatory hijab rules.

This action comes just an hour after a reported conversation between the President of Turkey and Iran's President-elect Masoud Pezeshkian.

"Erdogan called and talked to the elected president for an hour, God willing, to improve relations," Ebrahim Sozanchi, a member of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution, said on X.

"Just today, the offices of Turkish Airlines have been sealed because of hijab. It must have been a coincidence..." he added.

The incident comes amidst heightened tensions surrounding Iran's mandatory hijab laws.

Following the Woman, Life, Freedom protests in 2022, there has been an expansion of civil protests against the compulsory hijab.

In response, the Islamic Republic has intensified punitive measures to counter these protests.

Despite the Islamic Republic's increasing pressures, civil resistance by women opposed to mandatory dress codes has persisted, with videos surfacing daily of women appearing in public without hijabs.
